Servest are recruiting Duty Cleaning Managers for a prestigious multi-site client in Central London within the further education sector. Reporting into the onsite Operations Manager you will support by making sure day to day the business runs smoothly by managing the team of cleaning operatives / Supervisors across the buildings.
OVERVIEW
We are looking for an experienced Duty/Assistant Cleaning Manager /Cleaning Manager with a background in commercial and public cleaning, who is used to managing at least 35 cleaning operatives. Your hours of work will be mainly Monday – Friday with shifts covering the core hours of the business- 5am-2pm/ 8am-5pm & 1pm-9pm We are looking for flexibility with working hours across these shifts. You will also be required to be onsite some weekends on a rota basis (Businesses depending) - flexibility is needed with days and hours to fit in with the needs of the business- the position is working 40 hours per week
DUTIES WILL INCLUDE
As a Duty Cleaning Manager day to day you will be supporting the onsite Operations Manager as a first line manager to the cleaning operatives. You will be assisting to make sure the areas are all staffed, meeting with the onsite client and make sure the operation runs smoothly- including rotas, staffing levels, recruitment and HR issues, conducting regular audits and ordering equipment and supplies. You will also be responsible for the input of wages weekly. On the sites you will manage the general cleaning, this is a hands on role so part of your day may need to be spent cleaning/ training staff. We are looking for managers that can communicate effectively and regularly with staff through formal and informal channels on safety matters to ensure there is a free flow of ideas and that morale remains high within the team. You will need to be able to work in a fast paced environment, be reactive to issues and a string problem solver. You will be highly organised and able to prioritise effectively whilst sometimes juggling an ever changing workload.
THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE
We are looking for managers with previous experience as an Duty/Assistant Cleaning Manager or Cleaning Manager within a commercial/ public sector environment
You will be used to working within public cleaning covering communal areas of buildings, offices, stairways and toilets.
You will be used to managing a team with 35 + operatives that work across a variety of shift patterns
You will be used to exceeding set SLA's and used to managing strict KPI's and audits
As a manager you will need exceptional people management skills to be able to lead, motivate and develop your teams- training will play a large part of the role
Ideally you will have a basic knowledge of employment law with some background in Employee Relations casework- this is advantageous but not a necessary requirement
You will be used to carrying out performance and quality audits, producing regular reports and be up to date with current H & S legislation and completing payroll.
A basic understanding of IT is essential as well as good written English for emails and reports
