Senior Management Accountant
Optima Plus Recruitment are exclusively representing a high growth business in Stoke on Trent with the recruitment of a Senior Management Accountant or Finance Manager. Working closely with the Group Finance Director and Senior Management Team you will be responsible for providing all aspects of robust financial control for one dedicated business unit.
Based at the UK Head office it is a pivotal role within the finance department. Working as part of a group of companies the finance team provides accurate and reliable financial support for dedicated businesses within the group. This role requires an individual who is passionate about what they do coupled with a background systems implementation and the integration of a new business.
Key Responsibilities include:
• - Preparation of month end management accounts including analysis of variances to budget and reconciliation of balance sheet accounts.
- Preparation of reports for Board members.
- Preparation of annual budgets and development of robust forecasts for profit and loss, balance sheets and cashflow.
- Assist in the preparation of financial statements, year end process and liaison with auditors.
- Tight management of working capital and processing of payments.
- Ensure Group policies and procedures are adhered to.
- Suggest and implement improvements to systems, processes and reporting.
- Calculation and management of supplier and customer rebate schemes.
- Preparation of returns for HMRC including VAT and Intrastat.
- Ad hoc financial analysis and projects.

For this role I am looking to identify a Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA) with 5 years post qualification experience or qualified by experience in logistics, distribution or wholesale sectors. In addition you must possess strong analytical skills, with high attention to detail. Able to translate complex data into simple to understand information. Working knowledge of commercial aspects of business. Strong communication skills, with the ability to interact with a wide range of employees across the organisation.
