Thorn Baker are recruiting for an Operations Manager must have HNC Engineering or equivalent
Main purpose of job
- Manage and develop the Commercial team to achieve after-market budget turnover and booked margin to support the strategic business objectives.
- Manage AFM contracts from sales handover to completion (contract to cash process).
- Accountabilities
- Assess customer requirements, establish scope of work and provide client pricing for spares, repair and services.
- Manage SOC, sister company and ROW territories installed base sales growth.
- Daily Management of team to ensure delivery of the business key metrics in terms of booked margin, turnover, on time delivery, time to quote and CBS activity.
- Liaise with the operations team to make sure the spares are delivered within the agreed date with customer.
- Liaise with finance and service departments when required to achieve correct and timely contract execution.
- Liaise with internal departments and keep customers informed of progress, and all other order related matters to satisfy the customer's needs.

- Negotiate, award and expedite Purchase Orders, aiming to maximise profitability and ensure correct and timely
- Issue of customer documentation including invoicing.
- Obtain and revalidate supplier quotations.
- Compile reports and feedback internally to finance and at daily production meetings the status of contract
- Execution and to establish any corrective actions necessary to maintain contract schedule and cost constraints.
- Prepare orders for dispatch including rolling up, invoicing, producing and obtaining export / despatch
- Documentation and organising transportation. And also gaining proof of delivery or proof of export to satisfy legislation.
- Report on competitor activity, carry out regular reviews of business plans and marketing activity, and
- Recommend appropriate actions for improvements.
- Evaluate current departmental procedures, practices and processes and implement improvement activity as
- Required. Maintaining focus upon booking, margin and turnover.
- Ensure commercial orders are processed with appropriate recovered margin in place and within guidelines.
- Ensure accurate forecasting and reporting on the acquisition of orders from the early identification of
- Opportunities through development of the sales pipeline and maintenance of CRM records.
- Ensure compliance at all times with Corporate Authority Limits, SOX Rules, Agency Rules, Intercompany
- Pricing, and Conditions of Contract.
- Interact and respond to all aspects of CBS supporting cost reduction, efficiency, delivery and quality
- improvements.
- Ensure all activities adhere to all quality, health and safety standards and delivers a safe working environment
