Our client is a well-respected general practice surveyors based close to Nottingham who are seeking to appoint a committed and enthusiastic Graduate Surveyor to join their growing, dynamic team in Summer 2017. Specialising in utility work with national infrastructure improvement schemes, the practice also carries out residential and commercial valuations, plan preparation using geographical information systems and expert witness work.
The successful applicant will be required to assist the surveyors on various major projects. This is an excellent opportunity for anyone seeking to begin a career in surveying. Job Role:
To assist in the delivery of excellent services to clients, you will be:
• Carrying out research related to land ownership and sales for preparation of ownership schedules, valuations, expert opinions and planning applications;
• Negotiating access to land for clients and liaising during occupation of land;
• Assisting with residential and commercial valuations including research into land values and property sales along with site visits;
• Negotiating agricultural and commercial compensation claims;
• Preparing plans using GIS software;
• Coordinating and managing projects, including preparation of client updates and reporting schedules.
Required Skills:
You should have a minimum 2:1 degree and be committed to developing a career in surveying through the APC route. Given the nature of the work, you will require basic agricultural/land management knowledge. You will need to own your own vehicle and have a clean driving licence. Excellent communication and IT skills are essential and experience of working on mapping software packages would also be advantageous.
