NSC requires a full-time Simulation Engineer. In this technical role, you will be a senior engineer responsible for the use, exploitation and integration of simulation software. You will be multi-skilled, adaptable and keen to learn about new tools and techniques. You will be working to deliver complex and challenging technological solutions to a diverse range of demanding internal and external customers with very specialist requirements in an interesting and fast paced domain. You will work in small teams in a friendly and co-operative environment using latest technologies and techniques.
The NSC team consists of highly educated technical engineers and specialist former military staff, you will be knowledgeable, proactive and personable, comfortable working within and contributing to a small team, 'hands on' and comfortable working to challenging deadlines.
Essential Skills
- Ideally you will hold a Degree in Computer Science or equivalent numerate subject
- Software Development experience in OO and scripting languages
- Maintenance of simulation databases
- Sound working knowledge of small scale computer networks
- Ability to establish effective working relationships
- Strong organisational and communication skillsDesirable Skills
- Experience with simulation tools and applications, particularly VBS
- Experience of GIS Systems
- Military experience
- Willingness to travel
