An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Electro-Mechanical Engineering Technician to join JJS Manufacturing Services based in Lutterworth with occasional travel to Czech Republic.

JJS is an Electronics Manufacturing partner specialising in end-to-end procurement, manufacture and supply chain solutions.

The main role of the Electro-Mechanical Engineering Technician will be to ensure that new products with mainly electrical and / or mechanical content are introduced into manufacturing in a timely, efficient, cost effective and accurate manner. Assist customers in cost reduction and ease of fabrication and assembly. Assist in other appropriate technical areas as required.

Your key duties and responsibilities will be:

- Primarily responsible for projects with significant electrical and/or mechanical content.
- Assist with, and be responsible for, 'front-end' engineering and completion of New Product Introduction (NPI) using the standard processes and procedures, highlighting DFM and production capability issues as appropriate, and assisting in implementing appropriate assembly lines.
- Ensure the design and implementation of all documents, drawings, process routings, tooling, build instructions etc. required to facilitate the above.
- Plan, manage and hands-on involvement in all projects allocated to them by engineering management, including liaison with the relevant Account Manager and closure of issues found during NPI.
- Write and maintain clear assembly procedures for use by technicians and production operators in UK and Czech, de-skilling where possible.
- Assist in investigating and reporting on technical problems and internal/external customer complaints offering solutions where possible. This may include revising drawings using CAD, and suggesting alternative manufacturing methods and/or materials.
- Supporting NPI and transition processes for product to be built across group sites.
- Support to Account Managers and New Business Development on technical issues, including liaison with customers and understanding their requirements.
- Help to identify and implement cost reduction opportunities on mechanical and electrical assemblies through re-design, selection of materials, fabrication and assembly methods.
- Support to QA, assisting with inspection, investigations and audits.
- Support to Production and other engineers on technical issues.
- Supporting document control and project administration.
- Assisting in continuous improvement activities throughout the business.

An ideal Electro-Mechanical Engineering Technician will have the following:

Essential

- Demonstrable practical experience within an electro-mechanical manufacturing environment
- Working knowledge of materials, manufacturing processes, fabrication methods and inspection standards for mechanical assemblies.
- Good understanding of electrical engineering and wiring.
- Experience of a professional CAD package (Solidworks preferred)
- Excellent communication skills; fluent English required.
- Excellent internal and external customer service.
- Proactive, self-motivated and organised.
- Computer literate, PC Skills including Microsoft packages.
- Clear and logical approach to problem solving with a strong 'right first time' ethos.
- Excellent organisational and project management skills.

Desirable

- Qualified to HND / Degree level in a technical subject.
- Experience in electrical design
- Experience in mechanical design
