This is an exceptional opportunity for an entrepreneurial Managing Director to lead a well-established and rapidly developing, complex business which provides high quality service to private and public sector customers from SME's to blue chip nationals and local authorities.
As leader of the organisation, which has a turnover of GBP45m+ and 350+ staff, reporting to the Board of Directors, you will inspire, develop and grow the business, building a high quality brand, recognised as the market leader in its sector.
With significant autonomy, providing innovative and hands-on leadership to all aspects of the business, your challenging brief as Managing Director will include:
- Developing and executing the company's business strategies in order to attain the goals of the Board and Shareholders.
- Spearheading a growth strategy to develop the business through both organic and inorganic means.
- Developing a modern and sophisticated culture of change, driving low cost strategies in a continuous improvement environment.
- Leading a significant team, developing, empowering and motivating people.
The successful Managing Director will:
- Be a graduate, degree qualified or equivalent.
- Have prior experience at MD or other relevant leader level within a similar sized or larger business with multiple cost centres.
- Be a proven leader with experience at Board level with the ability to build professional relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
- Thrive on change, be willing to explore new opportunities and challenge the status quo.
- Have knowledge of a sector with exceptional standards of health & safety and environmental compliance.
- Have P&L management experience, the ability to control business risks and a track record of delivering successful, profitable and sustainable business growth.
- Be based within commutable distance of Northallerton and able to travel throughout the North East / Yorkshire region.
In return, the MD will receive a salary of GBP85,000 - GBP95,000 pa plus 10% bonus, pension, car and other flexible benefits.
