Motor Claims Operations Manager

Role Overview:
The Claims Operations Manager plays a key part in the leadership, definition and delivery of desktop claims handling within the group.
You will take responsibility for the leadership and management of the Claims Teams by managing Claim Managers, Service Managers, Team Leaders, Claim Handlers, Support staff assigned to the teams. Developing and coaching directly up to 8 Claim Managers and Team Leaders

Core duties will include:
Conduct meaningful regular performance development review discussions,
Taking responsibility for the proactive management of all employee life-cycle issues; including, probationary period management, poor performance, capability issues, sickness absence
Taking responsibility for the induction and on the job training for all new management hires into the teams.
Participating in Client review meetings, external audit feedback sessions and new business tender processes.
Ensuring that staff within the teams make cross Group business unit referrals, putting processes in place to check compliance.
Working towards agreed budgeted revenue and costs. Construct and effectively manage team budgets.
Ensuring that aged debt is controlled at all times and the timely processing of supplier and customer invoices.

The ideal candidate will have the following key skills & attributes:
Strong leadership experience within a high performance working environment
Evidence of leading organisational change.
Experience manipulating Excel and other system based Management Information.
Evidence of working successfully in a fast paced and changing environment where flexibility is required to accommodate peaks and troughs in workload.
Regulatory knowledge (people, FSA, Data Protection etc).
Confident with technology, with a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
Effective and confident presentation skills and ability to influence.
Self-motivated and able to motivate others.
Excellent time management to be able to work to short/changing deadlines.
Strong numerical and verbal reasoning skills.
Willingness and ability to learn new applications and IT systems
