Job Title: Logistics Engineer / Logistics Manager Required
Location: Birmingham Based (Travel to projects will be required)
Job Type: Permanent Role- Salary Circa GBP40,000 to GBP50,000 Plus Package
Start Date: Start June/July 2017 (ASAP)
Our client, a large national contractor, is looking for a Logistics Engineer / Logistics Manager to join their company on a permanent basis, to work on a large-scale infrastructure project within the West Midlands area. This is an excellent opportunity for the applicable candidate to join as exciting working environment, with a growing team and longevity of work can be promised in this role, within the West Midlands area.
The role itself will comprise of working directly with the overall Logistics Manager for the project, to oversee and implement plans and procedures to ensure smooth running of the project, predominately focusing on the vehicles associated with the site (route planning, delivering times, investigating road collisions etc). The above will be achieved by working with the projects subcontractors, to implement construction plans, auditing subcontractors, ensuring that all worked is being completed as agreed, writing construction, excavation and material plans, preparing daily and months reports and reporting all information to the overall Logistics Manager, offering ideas for improvement where possible.
Candidates will ideally:
- Have experience of planning logistics for large scale civil engineering and infrastructure projects
- Be a strong character with an authoritative nature, able to manage and audit subcontractors on site to get the best work ethic from all parties
- Have a diverse knowledge of different aspects of civil engineering (i.e. earthworks, structures, roads)
- Be able to write construction plans (not essential)
- Be used to work in a high-pressure environment
- Be an ambitious and committed individual who is looking for a career changing role
