SENIOR PRACTITIONER (WIGAN BOROUGH)

£28,000 per annum pro rata

Winston's Wish is an outstanding and well-established national charity with bases in Gloucestershire, Sussex and the North West providing support to children who have been bereaved.  We have a strong belief in preventative, community based services that promote resilience in young people. 

We are recruiting for a Senior Practitioner for 30 hours (0.8 FTE) to work as part of our North West team.  This role is focused on Wigan borough and is primarily therapeutic in nature but will also require the ability to pro-actively engage and work with families and professionals from all communities and backgrounds.

You will have a clinical/therapeutic qualification in psychology, counselling, art therapy, play therapy psychotherapy, family therapy or social work. We also welcome applicants with previous experience of working in bereavement/palliative care. Previous experience of childhood bereavement is desirable; however we are more interested in relevant professional experience in, and a commitment to, working with children and families.

You should be enthusiastic about working as part of a dynamic and creative team and you will have excellent interpersonal skills, especially in communicating with children.
