Our client is recruiting for a part time Waking Night Residential Support Worker for their Ofsted rated Outstanding home in Bolton. Pocket Nook is a home for five young people with a diagnosis of Autism and learning difficulties. They provide a long term home for young people and work with them to build on independence and social skills. You will work as part of an enthusiastic team of RSCW’s providing a safe, caring and accepting environment with direction and support to the young people in their care. Pocket Nook has been the subject of praise from many families who believe the centre provides a ‘home from home’ for young people and feel staff are ‘always at the end of the phone’ to offer support.

Essential Job Requirements
- Ability to work alongside staff teams to provide a high level of care.
- Provide a safe environment for the young people in their care.
- Ensure record keeping and administrative duties are met including care plans and all relevant paperwork is updated.
- Be flexible and able to undertake shift work including weekends.
- Proactiveness to undertake all additional duties including cleaning, laundry, preparing for the next day.
Desirable Attributes
- Knowledge of current legislation.
- Diploma Level 3 qualified in Children and Young Person’s Workforce, Social Work Degree or equivalent, or the willingness to work towards.
- Experience of Ofsted inspections.
- Understanding of attachment and trauma in relation to young people.

The successful applicant for the Waking Nights - Residential Children’s Worker role will be expected to demonstrate commitment to training and development and must be capable of adapting their work practice to the ethos of the home. Their services are 24/7, therefore, they need their staff to be flexible Monday to Sunday. This post is part time 2 nights per week. You must be over the age of 21.
