Fantastic opportunity not to be missed! The Royal College of Anaesthetists (RCoA) has an exciting opportunity for a Media & Communications Officer to join the team in Holborn. Joining us on a full time permanent basis, you will receive a competitive salary of £30,600 per annum.
The Royal College of Anaesthetists (RCoA) is the professional body which ensures the quality of patient care through the maintenance of standards in anaesthesia, critical care and pain medicine across the UK. Anaesthesia is the UK’s single largest hospital specialty, playing a critical role in the care of two-thirds of all hospital patients. With a combined membership of over 21,500 fellows and members, including those of the Faculties of Intensive Care Medicine and Pain Medicine, the RCoA is the third largest Medical Royal College by UK membership.
This Media & Communications Officer is a fantastic opportunity to join the College at a key moment in its development. The organisation is undergoing a period of exciting growth and change, including the expansion of the communications function and enhancement of our media relations activities. You will be responsible for supporting the development, implementation and delivery of our new media strategy, while also providing high-quality communications support to Directorates across the College.
As the Media & Communications Officer, you will be part of the Communications and External Affairs Directorate, which is responsible for a range of activities, including member engagement, media relations, policy and public affairs, stakeholder engagement, internal communications, digital communications and publications.
The ideal Media & Communications Officer will have proven experience of working in a press office/newsroom or on media work within context of a wider communications team, for at least two years. A strong news sense and the ability to translate scientific information for a lay audience is essential.
