Deputy Manager - Service Lead Health £41,301

Based in Keynsham, Bristol

As Service Lead you'll deliver high quality, evidence based clinical and holistic care at The Chocolate Quarter. You'll lead on clinical management and risk assessments in relation to all NHS and CGG contract beds within the short-term care service and undertake full clinical assessments of clients. Practising within the guidance and legal framework of CQC regulations and NMC's professional development standards you'll administer medication and undertake clinical procedures. Communicating and sharing effectively with the care team you'll create a working environment, which supports change and continuous improvement. You'll also be a mentor to Registered Nurses, helping them develop enhanced clinical knowledge and skill sets.

Additional duties will include providing support and counselling to residents and their families, facilitating external health professional visits and maintaining a positive working environment that supports the holistic care of individuals. Residents will be at the centre of all your decisions and you'll be a role model to teams of Nursing Care Assistants, Support Workers and Seniors. You'll work clinically for a minimum of 2 days per week and 2 days at the weekend (working a minimum of 1 weekend in 4). On call responsibility will be required during the working weekend and you'll deputise for the Care Home Manager in their absence.

What we're looking for

For this role you should be a Registered Nurse Adult Level 1 and have experience working in a nursing home/hospital, social care setting or with older people. You will have an excellent working knowledge of NMC Standards for the Administration of Medicine and will demonstrate evidence of meeting NMC revalidation requirements.  You will be practising at an advanced clinical level and have an in depth understanding of the needs of older people. Experience in supporting residents with care needs is essential.

Additional requirements include an understanding of progressive neurological disorders, experience writing care plans, undertaking risk assessments and safeguarding vulnerable adults. You'll be an inspiring leader who will have positive expectations of others and help colleagues feel valued. An Advanced nurse practitioner/Nurse Prescriber certificate and teaching certificate, or working towards these, is desirable but not essential for the role.
