This secondary school in Birmingham, rated 'Good' by Ofsted, are currently looking for an outstanding Maths Graduate to work as a Teaching Assistant across Key Stages 3 & 4.

The school is a slightly smaller than average academy that converted from a secondary in 2013. With the new academy status the school bought in a virtually new senior leadership team who made huge changes to the ethos, teaching practices and staff. The academy now boasts some much improved results at GCSE and a level of pastoral care not previously seen. Pupils now enjoy coming to school and are hungry to learn and develop both academically and emotionally.

In order to further raise attainment in both literacy and numeracy the school are actively looking to recruit a number of Graduate Teaching Assistants to support their English and Maths departments. As a Maths Graduate your task will be to support the school's Maths teachers within the classroom. Although this could be across any year group from Year 7 to Year 12 the bulk of the work will be helping pupils at GCSE level as this is the where the greatest demand lies.

As a Teaching Assistant you will need to demonstrate outstanding knowledge in Maths combined with creative methods in getting your points across. As with most schools the levels of ability in lessons can vary a lot so what works for one year group or class may not work for another. As you progress and learn your role you will pick up a number of sound and useable techniques that will only be of benefit if going on to teacher training.

This position is all about academic excellence combined with the aptitude and determination to succeed at whatever tasks you are given. If you are enthusiastic, reliable and 100% committed to education then this Teaching Assistant role could be perfect. Please send you CV to Patrick at edustaff today
