CARE ASSISTANT – Lytham St Annes - (Various Shifts Available)

Full and Part Time positions available, as well as different shifts (ie days or nights).

Our client is a development-led care home operator providing ‘New Generation’ care facilities. From the initial concept and design of the building, through to construction, recruitment and care delivery, this company carefully considers every last detail of each care facility that it creates and the high level of service that it is able to offer. The health, well-being and happiness of their residents is always their number one priority.

Their new stunning care home is a lovely and luxurious home located in the picturesque seaside town of Lytham St Annes. The home is due to open its doors in August 2017 and will be registered to provide care to 77 residents who have a variety of care needs including residential, nursing and dementia.

In preparation for the opening, they are recruiting for a number of positions, including a dedicated Care Assistant to deliver ‘hands-on’ care to residents in a ‘person-centred’ manner and to continually improve the quality of care delivered.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Assisting residents in all aspects of their physical, emotional and spiritual care needs in line with the agreed care plan.
  • Ensuring that changes in needs are observed and verbally reported as well as writing updates in the resident’s notes.
  • Closely monitoring residents who may be confused.
  • Assisting in the promotion of continence.
  • Deliver social activities by interacting with residents and helping them continue with hobbies and activities in the Home.
  • Answering nurse call system and giving assistance as required.
  • Assisting residents who need help during mealtimes.
  • Escorting residents travelling to and from the Home.
  • Practicing maximum integrity in all dealings with resident’s personal and financial affairs, and avoiding abuse of the privileged relationship that exists with residents.

Skills and experience required:

  • Care Certificate or equivalent or willingness to achieve this in the first 12 months of employment.
  • Experience at Care Assistant level in a care environment.
  • Experience working with older people.
  • Evidence of good care practice knowledge relating to the care of older people.
  • Evidence of the ability to contribute to the assessment, planning and evaluation of the care needs of older people.
  • Demonstrate a sound knowledge of the 6 principles of care and how they should underpin the delivery of care in a residential/Nursing setting.
  • Demonstrate self motivation and confidence.
  • Demonstrates a caring attitude towards people.

This position is subject to a DBS check.
