Our client is seeking to appoint a Teaching Assistant to join their 14-16 Team. You will be required to provide outstanding support to learners on their 14-16 programme and bespoke programmes for learners with emotional and behavioural difficulties who are 16+ to ensure that learners meet the outcomes of their learning programmes and are provided with high quality learning opportunities. As you will be working with vulnerable learners it is essential that you are resilient and will strive for excellence for their learners by being a caring role model of the values of the College. The provision works with a range of different stakeholders, including local schools, external agencies and local community groups to ensure that a broad and balanced curriculum is delivered including English, maths, personal development and employability programmes. The role of the teaching assistant is to ensure that learners have adapted resources and pastoral support to maximise their success.

You will also be required to support learners outside the classroom in the wider curriculum including PSHE, employability and external visits.

Liaising with specialist services on behalf of individual pupils e.g. educational psychologists, speech therapists by agreement with the SENCO will also be a responsibility of the successful candidate.

You will need to have a Functional Skills English and Maths qualification gained within the last 5 years (or ability to achieve). Also essential for the role is a PTTLS or similar teaching qualification or you should be willing to work towards these. A Learning Support/ Teaching Assistant qualification is desirable but not essential for this role.
