Business Rates Officer

We have a new exciting opportunity at Colchester Borough Council for a Business Rates Officer to join our team. The successful candidate will join us on a full time, permanent basis working 37 hours per week and will receive a competitive salary of £19,747 - £23,226 per annum.

Our Business Rates team has recently embarked on a change that will deliver new ways of working. Our aim is to deliver a service that engages the business community whilst maintaining high performance levels for the Council.

About the Business Rates Officer Role

Our Business Rates team is responsible for the collection of Business Rates and is crucial to the wider funding of Council services. The Business Rates Officer role has a wide focus that includes the management of accounts, all aspects of billing, proactive collection functions and also a responsibility for inspecting properties.
