Senior Transformer Service Engineer

ABB is a leading global supplier of transformers and related equipment and services to utility and industrial customers. To support the continued growth of our UK Power Grids business we are looking for a Senior Transformer Service Engineer. In this vital, permanent full-time role you will be responsible for the delivery of a variety of site-based projects including the installation and commissioning of new transformers as well as the maintenance, repair and refurbishment of existing assets.

Location

You will be home-based, working as part of ABB's Service Team at our facilities in Stone, Staffordshire. The nature of our business means that this role involves regular travel that could take you to transformer sites in any part of the UK. And there will be times when you will need to work away from home, usually only for a day or two, although more demanding projects might require a longer stay - your travel and accommodation will be fully expensed.

Who are we looking for?

While specific experience of transformers is useful, it is essential that you have practical, hands-on experience of working with power transmission and distribution assets together with relevant qualifications. Full training will be provided.

We are looking for someone with the strong communication and people skills essential for leading a small team as well as the determination and customer-focused approach to ensure that our service projects are delivered on-time and on-budget. As part of ABB's UK service business, you will be working with our nine transformer factories across Europe, with a particular responsibility for ensuring adherence to ABB's sales policies.

You will need to demonstrate a commitment to maintaining the highest levels of health and safety and respect for the environment in line with ABB's stringent operating policies.
