Job Role:
The position available is to support the ongoing software development needs of the company. Products are continually being revised and improved, with changes to the software package needed to support their programming and operation. This position is an excellent opportunity for anyone looking to excel from an already proven background into the fields detailed.
Key Responsibilities:
- Software development in Visual Studio to maintain and improve our system programming environment.
- Liaison with hardware and firmware developers to ensure seamless operation of the software with hardware and firmware.
- Liaison with dealers worldwide to understand requirements and to receive feedback on Beta testing and implementation.
- Training - the company undertake regular training courses and this role would be involved in these training dealers on new software
The Candidate:
Education and Qualifications
Good university degree (or equivalent) with a Computer Science bias, although other applicants would be considered if they have relevant experience.
Essential skills and experience
- Candidate must be experienced working in modern versions of Visual Studio
- Knowledge of older versions of Visual Studio is helpful- the software has been ported from earlier versions.
- A working knowledge of electronics hardware, particularly microcontrollers
- Use of debugging tools, including signal analysers as well as those built into Visual Studio.
- Good communication skills
- Excellent project management skills, delivering updates on time and to budget.
Desirable skills and experience
- Familiarity with embedded firmware development.
- Embedded C for PIC and AVR microcontrollers.
- Working with bug trackers and revision control systems.
- Ability to work well as part of a team.
