Let's talk about a rewarding career

As a Disability Assessor, you will hold face-to-face assessments with people living with long-term health conditions either in their home, or at one of our local assessment centres. This role isn't about diagnosing symptoms - it's about combining understanding and expertise to build a picture of an individual's condition and the impact it has on their day to day life. This role involves plenty of hard work - but, if you've got the drive and determination to go far, it offers plenty of rewards, too.

Here you will:

Conduct face-to-face assessments
Create a report for each completed assessment
Review supporting evidence
Present your reports to the Department for Work and Pension (England and Wales) or Department for Communities (Northern Ireland) clearly providing the advice, information and justification needed by the Case Manager in order for them to make an equitable decision on entitlement to PIP
Attend CPD training events and keep up to date with the PIP assessment process.

What we are looking for:

Fully qualified healthcare professionals - nurses, occupational therapists, paramedics or physiotherapists that hold full registration with HCPC or NMC
A minimum of two years' post-qualification experience

Experience in a patient-facing role
Sound written communication skills and previous report-writing experience
Ability to manage conversations and ask questions effectively
Confidence working with computers and able to type well at good speed
Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle is essential
