2nd Line IT Technical Engineer

Applications are invited for the full-time post of 2nd Line IT Technical Engineer at this School.

The successful candidate will work with the IT Support Manager.

Own transport to/from the School is required as there is no public transport available.
Please note this is not a term time only position.

Duties include:
- Excellent analytical, computer and communication skills
- Ability to diagnose and communicate complex technical issues
- Monitoring technologies and best practices
- Networking technologies, switches, fibre and multi-site infrastructures
- Experience in problem analysis and resolution of software problems
- Experience with hardware fault diagnosis
- Experience of working in an education environment
- Experience, maintain and organise and setup for various computing, audio visual equipment's
- On call and emergency call if its required

Required skills:
- Good troubleshooting of Windows Server 2008 up to Windows Server 2012 R2
- Good AD and group policy skills. AD / DNS / DHCP / GPO
- Good desktop management skills in Windows 7 and above
- Good desktop and server management skills in Mac environment (Ipads, iMacs, Macbooks)
- Good troubleshooting of backup exec, Veeam
- HP Servers and SAN (EMC) and Synology management
- SonicWall and Sophos firewall management
- Good understanding about hosting webpages
- Networking knowledge covering LAN/WAN/VLAN & wireless technologies
- Strong knowledge about VMWare Vsphere 5.5 - 6.5 Virtualisation products including ESX
- Server and VCenter Server
- Good administration skills on Exchange 2010 (PowerShell)

You will be part of the school support team and must be able to communicate well with pupils, staff and parents.
