Job Description LOCATION: Pulborough, West Sussex
JOB TITLE: Medical Receptionist
SALARY & BENEFITS: Available on request
WORKING HOURS: 20 - 25 hours per week + Overtime
THE COMPANY: Our client is a long established, rural GP Practice. It is a busy practice with over 13,000 patients. They are based in Pulborough, West Sussex and are looking to recruit a Medical Receptionist to join their existing team.
THE ROLE: The successful Medical Receptionist will join the Receptionist team of around 15.
The practice and the team offer a family like environment and regardless of your level of experience you will be supported in your role. Your key responsibilities will be to provide administrative support in a variety of ways to support the day to day running of the medical centre.
Key Responsibilities:
•Answering the phone promptly and dealing with enquiries efficiently
•Contacting patients with messages from doctors and nurses
•Checking patients in and making new appointments
•Meeting and greeting patients
•Informing patients of test results as and when appropriate
•Dealing with hospital enquiries
•Dealing with challenging situations
•Filing and extracting patient's records
•Working as a team with patients, colleagues and doctors
•Provide occasional cover in the morning for absent colleagues
THE CANDIDATE: The ideal candidate for the role of Medical Receptionist will be a strong team player and able to work as part of a successful team to achieve the very best for the practice. Previous experience in a GP Practice/ Hospital or similar role would be an advantage but is not essential.
The most important thing is the person, experience in as a receptionist or NHS based role could be useful but is not essential.
Although experience is not essential, you will need some form of recent work history as this is a busy demanding role.
Key experience essential for the Medical Receptionist role:
•Must live within a commutable distance of Pulborough, West Sussex
•Must have excellent communication skills and a good telephone manner
•Be a strong team player
