Introduction

We need:• A Method & Tools Architect in our head offices in Swindon.• GBP41,535 - GBP55,380 a year, on a permanent 35-hour per week contract.• Send in your application by 7th July 2017

Architecture Development is an important team that supports our IT and Business Architecture functions through tooling, methods and frameworks. There is a current focus on architecture, who are integral to achieving the society's aims around reduction in the complexity of our IT estate and reducing the costs of change projects; Architecture Development is at the heart of enabling this to happen.

As a Method & Tools Architect, you will be managing the methods, tooling and frameworks used by the Enterprise Architects who define the roadmaps, strategies and standards to help us deliver our overall business strategy. It's a critical role with fast growing demand across our IT run, IT and business change and strategic planning communities. You will be responsible for making sure that the frameworks and reference materials are kept up to date and used correctly.

Who we're looking for

You will be an organised individual who's good at prioritising conflicting demands in a constantly changing environment. You will need to be confident about persuading people as you'll need to influence senior stakeholders. You will also be passionate about the benefits of frameworks and knowledge management, and be able to articulate the benefits that they deliver.

As a minimum requirement, you'll have:
Experience of working in, or managing, a team who look after IT frameworks or tooling Demonstrable experience of using SharePoint, ideally the 2013 version A good working knowledge of architecture frameworks, especially TOGAF Line management or team leadership experience Experience of managing governance, data retention processes, and/or frameworks

It would also be nice if you have:
A qualification in TOGAF Experience of Enterprise Architecture repositories, such as Troux Experience of working as an architect
What you'll be doing

You'll be leading a small team who look after the Nationwide Enterprise Architecture Framework (NEAF); the method for how architecture should be done at Nationwide. You will manage the repository storing our reference architecture materials, and apply quality checks to ensure that the standards, policies and roadmaps are adhered to. An important part of the role will be managing the governance process for the NEAF to make sure that architects are following the correct processes, and providing reporting to senior management to evidence where this has not been completed.

Under the guidance of the Senior Method & Tools Architect, you will manage changes to the NEAF and Knowledge Management processes to ensure that Nationwide's Enterprise Architecture methodology stays up to date with internal change, the needs of our customers, and external factors such as industry framework updates and wider technology trends.
