Accountant Belfast Grafton Recruitment are recruiting for an Accountant for the world's leading manufacturing company in construction equipment. The Role: The role will involve exposure to a wide variety of accounting functions with a broad range of analysis work. The variety of tasks ranges in levels of complexity and will require the ability to interact with local team members as well as accountants in other facilities and countries, hence a good standard of oral and written communication is required. Responsibilities will include (but not limited to): Supporting Month end close process including journal preparation and posting and subsequent balance sheet reconciliations, participating in month end closing meetings as appropriate Intercompany reconciliation and analysis Perform all activities to a high standard and in compliance with Internal and Sarbanes-Oxley controls. This is includes maintenance of process and procedural control documentation Identify and facilitate process improvement opportunities Promote a customer service orientated culture within the GASSC by providing a first class service to our customers, in alignment with Service Level Agreements and Key Performance Indicators Support GA SSC with other adhoc activities Requirements: Essential A degree with relevant job related experience in a Finance/Accounting Environment OR Candidate's with lesser or no qualification must have significantly more job related experience A practical understanding of general accounting policies and principles Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, high levels of customer focus, personal accountability and the ability to use their own initiative as well as play a key role within a successful team. Display understanding and practical experience of purpose and application of internal accounting controls Proficient working knowledge of Microsoft Excel Proficient in English (written & oral) Desirable Display progress towards the attainment of a professional Accountancy qualification with recognised UK/Ireland Accounting Bodies ( i.e. CIMA, ACCA, ICAI or ICAEW) A proven track record in preparing and analysing high quality Financial data; Proficient in using SAP or a similar ERP system. Experience working in a multicultural environment Practical experience of Accounting in a Manufacturing Company Experience of working in a Shared Services Environment Why use Grafton?
