MAIN PURPOSE OF ROLE
With proven experience in a CNC Machine Shop environment programming CNC machines with HAAS Fanuc controls, you will also produce precision components from 3D computer models and paper drawings and generate CNC programmes using our CAD CAM system.
Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities
Create, load, examine and modify CNC programmes.
Set up tools and load materials onto CNC machine.
Carry out machining of components.
Identify and report drawing errors and suggest improvements.
Make a positive contribution to maintaining a workplace that is healthy, safe, neat and tidy.
Carry out any other reasonable duties within capability as required by the Line Manager.
Ensure all relevant ISO9001 procedures are adhered to.
To play an active role in achieving departmental objectives such as cost reduction targets year on year, a reduction of external suppliers and an increase of in-house capabilities.
PERSONNEL SPECIFICATION
Qualifications and Experience
Fully skilled time served engineer/tool maker with CNC milling and turning experience to the highest levels.
CNC Programmer with experience of CAD CAM programming and setting horizontal and vertical 3, 4 & 5 axis machining centres.
FANUC, CAD CAM and 3D machining experience essential.
Onecnc XR4 Mill 3D expert experience a distinct advantage.
Used to working to fine tolerances with various materials.
Able to interpret engineering drawings.
Able to use a wide variety of measuring equipment.
You must have sound technical knowledge of the machine shop and its workings.
Computer literacy, strong communication and interpersonal skills are also essential.
An excellent team player, ability to multi-task with a strong awareness of health & safety considerations within a machine shop environment.
Applicants should have a good general standard of education, with excellent written and spoken English.
Experience of setting HAAS mills and lathes, live tooling experience an advantage.
Experience of working in motorsport and aerospace an advantage.
