EDF Energy is a core part of the EDF Group, one of the largest energy companies in Europe with key business operations in the UK, France, Italy, Belgium and Poland. EDF are looking to recruit a Senior Planning Engineer to join the HPC team.
The post holder is responsible for ensuring the quality and fidelity of Hinkley Point C (HPC) contractor site schedules in the assigned programme area and maintaining alignment with the Integrated Work Schedule as well as leading a team of Planning Engineers across the assigned programme area.

Operating Environment
The Project Controls team is part of the HPC Project which is leading an ambitious programme to engineer, license, procure, construct and commission two European Pressurised Water Reactors (EPRs) at the HPC site in the UK

The HPC project is broken down into a series of Multi-Disciplined Programmes being managed by Multi-Disciplined Teams (MDTs), each of these are supported by a Project Controls Manager (PCM) and a team of Project Controls Engineers.

The post holder will be expected to accurately state the programme schedule position in the relevant area and be able to present this position in an authoritative manner to key stakeholders, including senior managers, articulating the reasons for this position and identifying potential options for closing any gaps.

Significant working relationships in the assigned area will be with the Project Controls Manager, Programme Manager and their staff, Contractors and the central Schedule Management Team. Clarity on schedule position and earned value will be vital to the success of the HPC project and the post holder will play a significant part in contributing to this.
Framework & Boundaries
The post holder will need to provide an overview of schedule progress to the relevant Programme Managers, highlighting risks and opportunities and assessing options available to the relevant area to support key project and companywide decisions. Issues with the potential to impact major milestones will be escalated and managed through the change control process and reported to the PCM.
They will also be expected to identify delays or opportunities originating outside of their area of control that could have a knock-on effect on their area of responsibility and report this to the relevant Programme and Project Manager. This requires the post holder to develop close working relationships with other Senior Planning Engineers and Project Controls Managers from other project areas to align plans and resolve conflicts in a timely manner. This will involve working with colleagues from across the Command Centres at HPC, Bristol and Paris offices.
