Principal Teachers are currently have a vacancy for a qualified Teacher of Science to commence a full time role in a Ripon secondary school. Our client school is seeking a professional to join their thriving Science Department after the May half term or as soon as possible. The successful applicant will need to be competent in the planning and delivery of Physics, Chemistry and Biology lessons and may have a specialism in any discipline. You will be responsible for teaching Key Stage 3 students (Years 7,8 and 9) and motivating all students to realise their full potential.

Based in a diverse area of Ripon, the school serves a large catchment area and is well regarded within the local community. You must possess strong behaviour management skills and have an ability to form strong working relationships with staff, pupils and parents very quickly. You will have full responsibility as a Year 7 Form Tutor and must be willing to participate in the wider life of the school and embrace the school's ethos. The Science Department is very well resourced and you will become part of a thriving team of professionals willing to share best practice.

The successful applicant will have:

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) recognisable in the UK
Strong behaviour and classroom management skills
Previous experience of teaching in an education setting in the UK
Knowledge of the current Secondary National Curriculum for Science
Enthusiasm for the role and a creative flare
The ability to form excellent working relationships with staff and pupils from a diverse range of backgrounds
Experience of planning and assessment to a very high standard
A commitment to improving attainment for all students
A proven track record for raising attainment and achieving targets
