Electrical Engineering Area Supervisor
We are THORPE PARK Resort and we are part of the magical Merlin Entertainments!
We are currently recruiting for an Electrical Engineering Area Supervisor. Reporting to an Engineering Area Manager, you are responsible for leading a Engineering shift to make sure all of our ride equipment meets the highest standards of safety and efficiency. Along with managing up to 20 engineers with 5 direct reports, you will also support the management team to deliver the safe, effective maintenance and statutory inspection of all rides and associated equipment during the operational season, with the aim of achieving ride availability targets, business KPI's and long term objectives.
You will work as an operational engineer carrying out Planned Preventative Maintenance, unplanned maintenance & ride start up procedures and safety checks, to ensure that rides are handed over to the operation in line with park opening times. During the winter season you will lead teams and projects within your area of responsibility to deliver the statutory Annual Inspection.
We are looking for the following skills and experience;
ONC/BTEC Level 3 or equivalent in an Electrical/Electronic Engineering discipline
Electrical/Electronic apprenticeship
Thorough understanding and experience of Planned Preventative Maintenance
Ability to read and use engineering drawings
Strong diagnostic skills
Knowledge of AC/DC drives and their associated motors or pumps and PLC fault-finding
Experience of Audio and Visual systems including repair and fault finding
Experience working with hydraulics and pneumatics
Trained in 17th. Edition BS 7671 standard desirable
Experience of managing teams with strong leadership skills
Strong communication and delegation skills
Have a great attitude, work ethic and passion to succeed
This role is Full Time, Permanent, averaging 40 hours per week and will include weekends and bank holidays as required.
