With the completion of Uffculme School’s new 400 seat theatre due in September, we are looking for a Theatre Manager to help make a real success of this amazing facility. As well as being a venue for presentations, concerts and productions for all the schools in our Academy Trust, the theatre will also play host to conferences and events run by the West Country Teaching School Alliance and be available to local and national theatre groups and performers for hire.

As our Theatre Manager, you will be responsible for the operation of our new facility for productions, concerts, open-air performances, presentations and commercial events for internal and external clients. Income generation from events will be key/fundamental in its success.

You should demonstrate an understanding of theatre legislation and best practice, show professionalism when representing Uffculme Academy Trust at business and theatre network forums and community events, as well as ensuring the theatre complies with statutory Health and Safety regulations.

Your attendance at evening and weekend events will be required as dictated by the events schedule.

In return, we offer a staff wellbeing programme, discounted access to our sports facilities and the opportunity to join the Local Government Pension Scheme.

Please note, we are also looking to appoint a Performing Arts and Theatre Technician to work 20 hours per week, 44 weeks per year. It may be possible for one person to initially cover both these roles with a view to specialising in one as the outside business of the theatre grows.
