Data Protection Officer
Leeds LS28 6AT
£35k - £40k + 10% bonus + excellent benefits
37.5 hours per week
Our client has gone from strength to strength over the last year. One of the biggest achievements was obtaining FCA Authorisation in August 2016.
The client has rapidly established itself as a major player in the Debt Purchase market over the past 8 years and is regarded as a highly respected organisation.
Within the expansion of the company you will play a pivotal role in ensuring that the business is fully compliant with the General Data Protection Requirements, maintaining and managing all relevant processes and procedures associated with Data Protection.
If you have experience in a similar Data Protection Officer role, and the following, we would love to hear from you:
• Experience of managing projects with a focus on Data Protection;
• Knowledge of GDPR requirements
• Experience in ISO27001, Cyber Essentials or other Information Security accreditation
Key Responsibilities
• Ensuring that all aspects of the business is compliant with GDPR requirements and providing appropriate advice and interpretation of data privacy legislation;
• Conducting comprehensive privacy impact assessments across the business and drafting and updating relevant internal policies and procedures
• Responding to queries from the business on data protection and preparing relevant reporting
• Lead on essential security and compliance reviews, certifications and accreditations (e.g. ISO27001/2, PCI, Cyber Essentials)
• Monitor security threats and report any breaches to the Board and assist in evaluating IT security technologies and lead on implementation
Competencies/Skills
• Good IT and report writing skills, able to investigate, document, and maintain records accurately
• Be knowledgeable of quality standards and models
• Be knowledgeable of standards set by the FCA, ICO and other regulatory bodies
• Ability to work to tight deadlines to ensure the effective delivery of service and prioritise workload
• Effective decision making skills, is strategic, methodical, logical and detail oriented
• Able to work independently and as part of a team, contributing to a positive team spirit and looking beyond boundaries of own job to support others
