Our client has identified an excellent opportunity for a qualified / part qualified Management Accountant to join their in house accounts department, based in Birstall, West Yorkshire.

This is an excellent opportunity for a new qualified or part qualified Accountant to join a reputable company on a full time basis.

Position Summary
As Management Accountant, your role will involve an array of duties which will include:

• Produce monthly profit and loss accounts, perform bank reconciliations, compiling audit information and liaising closely with the auditors
• Compiling quarterly VAT returns and other statutory returns
• Complete balance sheet reconciliations;
• Respond to and resolve profit and loss queries from internal stakeholders;
• Produce monthly management accounts packs, including commentary to be presented to the senior management team
• Closing down sales, purchase, cash and nominal ledgers
• Completing periodic reviews and appraisals with finance team
• Supervising, coaching, leading and managing the team, ensuring to complete periodic reviews and appraisals

About you
The successful candidate will hold a full or part qualification (if studies are still being taken), along with the following skills and experience to hit the ground running:

• Strong experience in a previous financial role is essential
• Strong working knowledge of financial reporting, cashflow forecasting and balance sheet reconciliations
• Attention to detail is essential to this role
• Newly Qualified preferred, part qualification considered if studies are still being undertaken
• Good working knowledge of Excel (pivots, lookups, Macros)
• The ability to work as part of a team and hit tight deadlines
