We require an Interim Logistics Specialist for a 6 month contract role based on a Government Client site in Hampshire to start ASAP...

Role: As the Interim Logistics Specialist you will be required to provide advice, support and knowledge transfer to the Client's Field supplies and logistics team to successfully procure a logistics supplier for their specific project which will be released in two phases during 2019 and 2021.
Essential skills/experience required:
Have previously supported and delivered large procurement exercises as a supplier/customer within the Logistics field - essential
Experience in both public and private sector in logistics based role - essential
Membership of a recognised Chartered organisation (such as CILT) - essential
Project Management (eg Prince2) qualification or equivalent experience - is desirable
Duties include:
Providing support with reviewing and updating the final procurement documentation. Working with the Field Operations Logistics team to ensure inputs to commercial specifications accurately reflect business needs.
Support the Logistics team through the procurement exercise (engaging, where necessary with suppliers), sharing knowledge and expertise through the process.
Supporting and sharing knowledge with the Logistics team through the bid evaluation process.
Working with the Field Operations Logistics team, other business areas and the commercial team up to the contract award stage.
You will also be required to provide counsel and advice with regard to the Logistics Industry specialism. You will be expected to have an ability to understand technical business requirements and translate them into output-based contractual requirements and support the Logistics team through the procurement exercise. As the Interim Logistics professional you will advise on industry best practice relating to performance and incentivisation of logistics suppliers and on the most effective use of Management Information within logistics contracts. Also you will provide current and relevant advice on the latest developments in logistics and relevant commercial engagement and prepare guidance for relevant audiences associated with the procurement process.
You will also need to be comfortable working under pressure and assisting the Logistics team with managing change control and reducing the risks from challenges, protests or disputes arising.
