LOCATION: Milton Keynes
JOB TITLE: Workshop Fitter
SALARY & BENEFITS: GBP34,000 - GBP37,000 + a modern and professional environment
WORKING HOURS: Monday - Friday 6.00am - 15.00pm / 9.00 - 18.00pm
THE COMPANY: Our client specialise in the delivery of essential public services, working in defence, transport, justice, immigration, healthcare and other citizen services all around the world. They primarily deal with national and local governments and have more than 50 years' experience of helping them to achieve their goals. They are now looking for Workshop Fitter to join their team in Milton Keynes.
THE ROLE: As a Workshop Fitter you will be working in a friendly and professional team of 4 you will provide essential maintenance within this commercial vehicle workshop environment with a fleet of 110 vehicles.
You will also have the opportunity to take part in voluntary overtime at weekends.
THE CANDIDATE: The successful applicant for the role of Workshop Fitter must display strong mechanical skills & have previous experience maintaining a fleet of vehicles, ideally you will have maintained a municipal fleet previously (Refuse Collection vehicles, Street Cleansing vans & Road Sweepers). However we will still consider applications from candidates with other fleet maintenance experience.
You will also have good communication skills and good written skills (to complete inspection / defect paperwork).
Both qualified (NVQ level 3 Heavy Vehicle Maintenance) and timed served candidates will be considered for he role.
Key experience essential for the Workshop Fitter role:
• Electrical fault finding experience
• Hydraulic repair experience
• Chassis work
• LGV Licence including current DQC
• Maintenance of fleet Vehicles
• Either NVQ Level 3 Heavy Vehicle Maintenance and Repair or time served
• Be able to undertake all aspects of commercial vehicle maintenance and repair
• Live within a commutable distance of Milton Keynes
