Due to increased business a new position is available within this established Global Logistics Provider within their busy accounts department. You will have previous credit control experience and preferably experience of the freight/shipping/logistics industry.

Actively support the clerical operations of the UK credit control function, Proactively support the UK Credit control Supervisor in tasks set out on a daily basis. You will be required to input data, access on-line supplier/customer systems as well as general administration tasks as outlined below.

Key duties and responsibilities

To communicate daily in a professional manner with customers, team members and other key stakeholders.

Collecting outstanding debts in a timely and efficient manner - works with a minimum of supervision on collection of overdue accounts.

Actively chasing outstanding debts by email and phone calls

Responsibility and accountability for a ledger as prescribed by line manager.

Dealing with customers, customer requests/queries are dealt with efficiently.

Allocating payments to the system

Makes adjustments, handles queries and resolves problems within company guidelines and policy.

Producing monthly statements

Liaising with staff in other departments and with external contacts;

Organising and storing paperwork, documents and computer-based information

Qualifications and key skills

include:

  • Education - minimum of 5 GCSE's (or equivalent) including Maths and English
  • Ability and flexibility to work as part of a team and on own initiative
  • Strong working capability on use of Microsoft office suite including word/ excel/ outlook
  • Previous experience (minimum 2 years )as a credit control clerk or similar within a fast moving, dynamic business and environment
  • Organised - the ability to multi-task and work well under pressure and to prioritise work load and self-manage when required.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
