Location: London and North & Southern Home Counties

Salary: Up to £20,000- £24,000 Basic + OTE of £10,000 Bonus + Car + Benefits Function Sales Representative in Retail Gift Trade Hours Full Time

Territory Requirements: Fully mobile throughout Southern England

Our client is a Greeting Card and Gift Distributor. Trading for over thirty years, the Company markets its patented Greeting Cards with Compact Discs and DVD's along with music and non-music related Giftware. With music licenses provided by Sony Music, their cards contain original chart hits from original artists such as Elvis Presley, Simon and Garfunkel, Fleetwood Mac, Aretha Franklin and many others. Their high profile customers include W H Smith, Clinton Cards, Edinburgh Woollen Mills as well as a substantial independent store account base. The Company brands are The CDCARD Company, Retro Company, Maranda Ti. The Company now want to start the process of building its own Sales Force responsible for both building and maintaining their customer base.

Job Role:

You will manage a defined territory with an existing account base of around 200 accounts, both Independent and multiple. The company's account base includes Card & Gift Shops, Garden Centres, Department stores, Jewellery Stores, Music stores and some specialist retailers. You will merchandise the company's products, maintain key selling lines, introduce new lines and prospect for new business.

  • Develop trade relationships and retain customers to grow the business
  • Actively selling a defined range of products, taking repeat orders and merchandising outlets
  • Creating and working to a Journey plan that maintains your account coverage across your territory
  • Maximizing call rates and workload productivity
  • Merchandising and maximizing sales opportunities
  • Maintaining the stock quantities on the retailers'
  • shelves by ordering sufficient quantities to last between visits
  • Maintaining good relationships with your customers
  • Efficient and accurate reporting to head office
  • Attending Trade exhibitions
  • Any other activities required to fulfil the job function

The Candidate:

The Sales Representative will need to be sales focused. The company want people who can work with accounts and develop customer relationships. They are looking for hard working, enthusiastic, extremely well organised and determined individuals.

The role requires the skill to work with the company's retailers to build sales, widen their product listings, open new accounts, and creative in store merchandising.

Target achievement is key to your success in the role.

Key Requirements:

Experience:

  • Previous experience within a FMCG role preferred
  • Gift Store experience would be beneficial
  • Greeting Card Experience would be beneficial
  • Commercial awareness

Skills:

  • Good time management and organisation skills
  • Self-Motivated
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skill
  • Adaptable and flexible as per the business challenges and requirements
