Tamar Energy has an exciting opportunity for a Recycling Operative to join the team based in Swanley. You will be on a full time permanent basis and be paid a rate from £9.00 per hour depending on experience
We are Tamar Energy and we operate two types of composting facilities which transforms green waste and mixed food waste in to good quality compost. We have six sites in total operating within the South East of England. The compost we produce meets the highest industry standards and is used domestically, agriculturally and also commercially. Our client base includes the likes of Kenilworth Castle and The Royal Festival Hall, landscapers and allotment groups.
Key Skills needed to become our Recycling Operative
As a Recycling Operative you will be very hands on operating the machines and managing the composting process. We use different mobile plant machinery including loading shovels, telehandlers, excavators, shredders and screeners, all of which require daily checks and maintenance. You will be expected to undertake tasks that may include removing blockages from machinery.
Skills needed to become our Recycling Operative
- Good understanding and appreciation of working in a health & safety driven environment. We want all our employees to work, remain safely and go home safely.
- CPCS Loading Shovel qualifications. This is essential to get you started in the role
- Experience of daily checks and maintenance of mobile plant machinery. These are essential to ensure our equipment remains safe and reliable.
- Reliability, flexibly and good team working skills. We are a small and friendly team which thrives on the reliability and flexibility of its team members.
- Willingness to learn. You will have the opportunity to gain new mobile plant qualifications with us and help you build your career with Tamar.
- Positive and can do attitude. Having this approach means problems are quickly identified and addressed making the working environment a positive one.

Initially, you will receive £9 per hour and work 52.5 hours per week covering Monday to Friday and alternate Saturdays on a permanent basis. You will receive 28 days holiday per year, stakeholder pension contributions, life assurance and other employee benefits.
