Actual Salary £4,178.01 - £4,372.97 pa (£16,759 - £17,541 pa FTE)

10 hours per week, Term Time Only + 2 weeks

Our client is a Further Education College offering a wide range of courses to over 5000 full time students and over 5650 part time students each year. They currently works with over 50 high school partners, welcoming students from Bury and the surrounding areas.

Joining them as a Catering Stores Assistant, you will assist in the kitchen /stores area in a way which ensures clean and hygienic conditions to ensure that Health and Safety food requirements are adhered to at all times.   

Cleaning all kitchen equipment, tables and sinks and collecting tea towels and dishcloths for washing, replacing them with clean supplies, you will record and check all food deliveries for quality, quantity and temperature against the stores orders. Operating the automatic dishwasher when necessary, you will prepare food trolleys from store orders on a daily basis and deal with any spontaneous requests from students / lecturers, maintaining flexibility within the college technical support team.

With a minimum Level 2 qualification in both English and Maths, you will hold a Basic Food Hygiene Certificate (or a willingness to work towards this) and ideally a Level 2 qualification in Hospitality or Catering, however this is not essential. With previous cleaning experience, ideally gained within a large kitchen environment, you will ideally have experience of making up food trolleys and of storing foodstuff in fridges and freezers at the correct temperature and position.  

Good communication and organisational skills are essential, as is the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
