Clerk of Works
Role: Temporary Clerk of Works
Start: June 2017 - December 2017
Pay Rate: GBP19 per hour
Duties
Traveling to sites across Bedfordshire region you will be a CSCS holder and ideally be a member of the Institute of Clerk Works. Your main purpose is to monitor the work of companies that carry out construction contracts. Delivering high quality construction projects by ensuring works are compliant with statutory regulations, codes of practice and to the clients stands, specification and schedule.
Inspect contract documentation and monitor works against that documentation, keep detailed written records and produce weekly reports. Show progress on sites, drawings receive, deliveries and attend site meetings and present your reports.
Advise on alternative construction details whilst works are carried out
Deal with any issues, if need be attend Court and issue Witness Statements, minimise the risk of litigation from contrators or the public
Experience and skills
You will hold a CSCS card and ideally membership of the Institute of Clerk of Works
Have experience of working on a wide range of construction projects
Show experience of monitoring and reporting
Be able to diagnose construction problems and suggest alternative
Ability to proof read specifications, prelims, contracts etc
