Job Description A locally based company who specialise as a global provider of engineered electronics is seeking an Electrician based in Barnstaple to join its expanding team
The company collaborates with customers in the transportation, industrial, medical, aerospace and defence markets. You will be part of the power electronics division, where it specialises in the manufacture of wound components, printed-circuit board assemblies, cabinet wiring and electronic test equipment for the civil aircraft, space and defence industries.
As the Electrician, your duties will be to:

You will be working 8.00am to 17.00pm Monday to Thursday / 8.00am to 13.00pm Friday.
In return, the Electrician will receive a salary of GBP20,000 - GBP30,000 per annum depending on experience.

As the Electrician, your duties will be to:
- Assemble, install, test, and maintain electrical or electronic wiring, equipment, appliances, apparatus, and fixtures, using hand tools and power tools
- Diagnose malfunctioning systems, apparatus, and components, using test equipment and hand tools, to locate the cause of a breakdown and correct the problem
- Connect wires to circuit breakers, transformers, or other components
- Inspect electrical systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards, defects, and the need for adjustment or repair, and to ensure compliance with codes
- Advise management on whether continued operation of equipment could be hazardous
- Test electrical systems and continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures, using testing devices such as ohmmeters, voltmeters, and oscilloscopes, to ensure compatibility and safety of system
- Plan layout and installation of electrical wiring, equipment and fixtures, based on job specifications and local codes
- Direct and train workers to install, maintain, or repair electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures.
To be a successful Electrician you will have the following skills and experience:
- Must hold the required electricians license (17th edition) and update this in accordance with regulations.
- Your approach will be organised and diligent with effective resilience and influencing skills to drive improvements and ensure compliance.
