IT Systems Management & configuration Consultant

This is a great opportunity to be part of one of the Equiniti IT Strategy & Architecture team based in our Worthing office primarily working as a Hyper 'V' Systems management & configuration technician to deliver aligned Enterprise Infrastructure & Application\Software projects.

Systems management elements being mainly focused around Microsoft System Management Solutions such as SCOM, SCCM, SCSM, SCVMM & all normal aspects related to Server administration\support. Configuration elements concentrate on bringing Business Applications, IT Software solutions and the Infrastructure together in terms of delivery and then automation of support processes where possible through use of PowerShell scripting. Additionally supporting the in-house Application Delivery Lifecycle using Microsoft Team Foundation server will be required.

As an IT Systems & Configuration Consultant, you will be responsible for;

• Technical implementation and operational support of virtualised systems.
• Technical implementation of system management solutions including operational handover to support teams.
• Implementing and supporting all business application deliveries hosted both on physical and virtual server infrastructure.
• Automating IT admin tasks and processes through scripting and automation techniques.
• Providing 3rd\4th Line technical support on major Incidents.
• Providing technical project management as required, liaising with the overall project manager, other IT areas, business stakeholders and 3rd parties.
• Liaising with and overseeing our offshore support teams.
• Documenting technical designs, standards and operational procedures.

As the successful candidate you will possess;

• Experience across a range of roles working in large scale\Enterprise sized environments on a range of IT projects in terms of both complexity and size.
• Extensive knowledge of and experience working with Microsoft Windows, Windows Server, Windows Clustering\NLB, Kemp Load Balancers, Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS and general system administration tasks.
• Strong Virtualisation knowledge and experience, preferably on MS Hyper-V systems.
• Good knowledge and experience of the System Centre suite.
• Strong PowerShell knowledge & experience preferred but other scripting technologies will be acceptable.
• Sound knowledge and experience administering SQL Systems and databases. Any Oracle experience will be advantageous.
• Good knowledge and experience implementing and administering MS Team Foundation Server.
• Good understanding of network protocols and technologies eg. LAN, WAN, TCP/IP, VLAN's etc.
