Job Title: Designer - Provisioning Systems

KEY PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

To provide design expertise in the Service Integration domain, working with solutions architects to produce domain specific high level and detailed designs. They will, support other designers and work with developers to ensure the agreed solution is fit for purpose, maintainable, and aligned with our product roadmap.

Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities:
Act as lead on a range of designs from complex to simple. Within this will be the review of requirements, delivery of configuration solution deliverables ensuring these align with agreed design patterns and roadmaps.
Act as knowledge expert on the Provisioning to the wider community
Translate end-to-end logical and functional specifications into high level and detailed design documentation for Service Integration systems to a high quality and timeliness
Create mapping, interface specifications, use case, and data model documentation as appropriate
Provide estimates of the effort required for specific deliverables when requested
Work with vendors to provide quality gating and validation to their propositions.
Ensure that all relevant regulatory controls and operational processes are built into delivered designs and deliver process improvements as applicable
Support common delivery process and delivery management community
Work with other team members to drive process improvements across partner teams and organisations, including mentoring.

Consistent delivery of quality work across a complex multi-site, multi-disciplined environment
Work in a fast paced work load with shifting priorities based on direction from Delivery Management community.
Develop a knowledge of the many tools, systems and processes used by the integration team
Gain reputation and respect as member of the recognised team of experts in a number of particular systems subject areas

Key Relationships:
Work with other designers to ensure that designs align with Project requirements. Work with other System Designers to resolve differences between project requirements and design patterns. Keeping Delivery manager updated on detailed design requirements for 3rd party development unit
Working with Solution Architects and other System Designers to share and develop key principles and working practices to evolve and improve design processes, documentation and patterns.
Working with the vendors and the design community to understand and lead roadmap discussions.
Working with other designers to ensure continuous improvements.
Working within Common Delivery process managed by System Delivery manager across other function:
Working within project teams to ensure solutions are fit-for-purpose and align with agreed design patterns.
Work with other project teams to support project deliveries from initial engagement through live deployment and resolution of production issues.
Working with Operations teams to identify and drive service improvement plans.
Be the voice of Provisioning both in terms of visiting contact centres, external suppliers
Monitoring the work of delivery partners to drive time, cost and quality improvements
Working with Service Integration team designers to understand and take advantage of the product roadmap of our strategic suppliers.

Critical Knowledge & Experience:

Must have:
Key knowledge of multiple provisioning activities related to the Provisioning of a SIM, in life activities, porting, number allocation, etc.
Experience of working in a mobile provisioning area with the breadth of stakeholders in that area.
Experience of working in a team environment
Experience of working with external delivery partners.

Nice to have:
Experience in a design role in the telecommunications sector.
Experience in a key discipline such as data modelling
Experience in software development.

Internal company knowledge (policies; procedures; strategies); industry background; knowledge of external market
Ability to work well in team with fast pace change
Previous Mobile/IT/network design experiences
Clear communicator and able to present thoughts and concepts to different audiences and levels of seniority
Being the voice of the customer and the customer experience
Proven in delivery with the ability to plan & organising their own work and map dependencies

5 Key Skills:
Experience in Provisioning concepts and SIM Provisioning and lifecycle.
Understand Mobile Telecommunication and how we interact with the customer and their device.
Experience with MNP processes (Mobile Number portability)
Clear communicator and able to present thoughts and concepts to different audiences and levels of seniority
Being the voice of the customer and the customer experience and proven delivery with the ability to plan, organising their own work and map dependencies
