This role reports directly to the Senior Analyst in Solution Engineering Team for the Group Connected Apps department, which is part of OTT Global TV Platforms & Apps Software Engineering unit. The Analyst will work closely with other domain analysts (both Business & Technical), technical leads/architects, and software delivery teams across all of OTT Global TV Platforms & Apps Software Engineering , Group TV and Digital Platforms (TVDP) , and the other Technology divisions.

Travel to other sites will be required.

Your key responsibilities

The Analyst will be responsible foremost for the breakdown of business requirements and solution design into themes and user stories for distribution across application development teams. Solution implementation must be achieved in line with the prevailing technical strategies and technical governance of OTT Global TV Platforms & Apps Software Engineering, TVDP , and Sky Technology.

Through liaison with Product Owners, Architects and Development teams, the Analyst must always seek to preserve customer experience and application reliability as a part of any piece of work to be undertaken on one of the various products Group Connected Apps is responsible for.

The Analyst will also be responsible for seeking and facilitating opportunities for continuous improvement of the application at both a technical and customer level. The Analyst will be responsible for requirements gathering, documentation and the conveying of those requirements and their technical solutions into Agile Scrum teams; supporting pre, mid and post development phases.

A specific focus for this role is in supporting the following within Sky's application portfolio: Sky Q, Sky Go, Sky+, Sky Kids, Sky Cinema and Sky Sports Mobile TV applications.

Your skills:

• Hands on, demonstrable, experience of preparing user stories & accompanying documentation for client application development across Mobile/PC/MAC/Console platforms

• Hands on, demonstrable experience of defining and documenting requirements for delivery into Agile Scrum teams

• Deep understanding and delivery experience of building web & mobile distributed applications

• Experience of using Agile software development methods within the IT, Media and Telecoms industries to deliver iterative solutions.

• Excellent understanding of the inter-relationships between different technical areas and also business areas.

• Ability to anticipate business needs and translate them into technical solutions.

• Ability to effectively document implementations & analysis for a varied audience and convey these through physical demonstrations.

• Strong analysis and problem-solving skills.

• Good consultancy and influencing skills, working within strong technical environments.

• Good written and verbal communication skills. Adept at translating complex technical concepts into meaningful recommendations.

• Excellent planning and organisational skills.

• Demonstrable experience of working with multiple product streams through the entire lifecycle in an Agile environment

• Working with self-organising Agile software development teams

• Demonstrable track record in software engineering working within a software delivery team.

• Demonstrable track record in the design and delivery of leading edge strategic business solutions from concept through implementation.

• Has undertaken all stages of the systems delivery lifecycle working closely with software engineering teams implementing your solutions.

• Demonstrable record of establishing, developing and maintaining 3rd party vendor relationships and maximising the benefit from those relationships.

• Demonstrable track record of working effectively with senior stakeholders within the business (including Technology, Product Management, Sales & Marketing).

• Demonstrable experience of business acumen and a solid understanding of how technology work streams interact and cross with business initiatives.
