Based in London, you will design and specify Audiovisual and presentation facilities for new and refurbished study / meeting spaces. You will capture and record AV and teaching facilities requirements, survey and draw up plans, draft functionality specifications and contribute to the testing and sign off of new and amended AV Systems.
This is a freelance role, initial 3 Month Contract- day rate, dependent on experience.
Duties & responsibilities:
Lead or contribute to requirements gathering workshops with key stakeholders to understand intended usages of spaces and functional requirements.
Be able to articulate in non-technical language the benefits and challenges of different technical approaches and solutions.
Produce assessments of existing facilities, highlighting deficiencies if appropriate.
Produce floor plans, internal elevations and reflected ceiling plans of existing spaces using a computer aided design package.
Produce functionality specifications on a space by space basis for tender documentation.
For many projects a room by room functionality specification is issued. These need to fully reflect the output of the requirements gathering workshops but without prescribing technical solutions as in certain types of tender the system design is part of the work commissioned from our suppliers.
Produce system designs for new AV systems and as amendments to existing systems.
Produce wiring schematics for AV systems.
Produce equipment lists including indicative costing spreadsheets for the purposes of budgeting.
For new spaces, using project supplied plans, elevations and RCPs, add symbols and annotations for the containment, data and power requirements of the new AV systems.
For existing spaces produce plans, elevations and RCPs of sufficient detail to be able to indicate any additional containment, data and power requirements.
Undertake acceptance testing on projects, documenting and relaying any defects or incomplete work to the Spaces and AV team, project managers and/or suppliers for attention and remedy.
Using existing design templates and visual style:
Photograph and optimise images of installed systems.
Produce illustrated end user quick start guides and fit guides to systems in rooms
