Our client was formed in 2005, to manage housing stock across Stockport on behalf of Stockport Council. As a limited company, they operate as an ALMO which is an ‘Arms Length Management Organisation’, so whilst the company is owned by the Council, they operate independently on day-to-day matters and delivering services to customers.

In 2016, they were named the UK’s Top Landlord in the 24Housing magazine Top 50 Landlords vote and were also recognised as one of Britain’s best employers for the seventh year running in the Sunday Times 'Best not-for-profit organisations to work for' category. They are looking forward to the future, having signed a brand new management agreement with the Council in 2015, they will be continuing to manage homes and transform lives until 2042.

Our client is currently looking to recruit a Neighbourhood Housing Officer to join them. As a first point of contact, you will manage a neighbourhood dealing with all aspects of tenancy and estate management.

The Neighbourhood Housing Officers must be confident in order to enforce tenancy conditions and challenge behaviours using various tools and powers at their disposal.  This will require excellent organisational and problem solving skills, a high level of resilience, the ability to work on your initiative with minimal supervision and excellent interpersonal and communications skills to work with partners and colleagues to jointly tackle issues.

With excellent customer care skills and a commitment to making a difference to neighbourhoods you will manage, you must be capable of working positively and enthusiastically in sometimes challenging circumstances and have an interest in Housing law relating to the management of Social Housing.

With good problem solving skills and the ability to work both on your own initiative and as part of a team, you must be able to use a wide range of IT packages to manage tenancy details and case work and be willing to deal with different types of workloads and problems.

Closing date for applications: Sunday 9 July 2017

Interview date: Tuesday 18 July 2017
