Leeds Building Society is looking for a Community Manager to join our Corporate Communications department, based at our Head Office in the heart of Leeds city centre.
About the role
The Community Manager will lead the Society's charity partnership, delivering an engaging communication plan and programme of activity. This will include planning and leading the activation of the Society's charity partnership covering selection and voting. You will support and organise fundraising activities for colleagues both at a team and individual level.
Key Accountabilities
- Develop an engaging communications plan to promote the Society's partnership to colleagues and members.
- Introduce new ways of co-ordinating and tracking charitable giving across the Society.
- Set up and manage an extensive community champion network across the Society to drive momentum around the charitable partnership, volunteering and the Society's Charitable Foundation.
- Promote and track member participation in the Society's Your Interest in Theirs scheme.
- Manage relationships with the Society's volunteering partners, planning key volunteering events throughout the year for colleagues to participate in.
- Measure the inputs, outputs, and impact of the Society's community strategy providing regular reports.
- Be visible on the Society's internal intranet and colleague social media platform.
- Work with the Community Officer to respond to colleague enquiries and volunteering applications.
- Support the CR Manager on other team priorities as necessary, including preparing information for benchmark submissions, contributing to annual CR reports and writing award submissions.
Essential Skills and Experience
- Track record of setting up and managing charity partnerships within a business or charity environment.
- Ability to think strategically and longer term whilst pragmatically managing day-to-day demands.
- Proven ability to use a small budget to catalyse and raise significant amounts for charity through staff and customer involvement.
- Positive outlook and passionate about making a difference to both business and society.
- A self-starter with a can-do attitude, not afraid to do things differently and can think independently without supervision.
- Able influence effectively at all levels, build strong relationships and flex communication style to a range of audiences
- Well organised and able to manage conflicting demands.
- Able to write communications with an uncompromising attention to detail.
- Good analytical and numeracy skills.
- Willing to work flexibly as the job demands, including travelling regularly to other sites across the country.
Desirable Skills & Experience
- Experience using London Benchmarking Group standards for reporting.
