Senior Java Developer

We're seeking to recruit a number of experienced Java Developers for a large energy company with a technology hub just outside Oxford. You'll be part of a rapidly expanding research and development team working on flagship desktop/cloud applications.

The purpose of the role is to work with the Product Owner and System Architect to design and develop software solutions in the areas of exploration geology and geophysics. You'll also identify areas for improvement within the software system and development processes and propose new solutions to the team. You'll study and work with state-of-the-art tools, techniques, and computing technologies and obtain relevant certifications.

To be considered, you'll need the following: proficiency in Java development with an understanding of object-oriented design and design patterns; knowledge of Java GUI frameworks such as Swing or SWT; experience with Agile development process and finally experience with cloud computing platforms, micro-services, big data analytics or Spark would be beneficial.
