This is an exciting opportunity in Darlington, County Durham for an Engine Aftertreatment Test Engineer.
Cummins Emissions Solutions UK, is where you can work on industry leading engineering projects. As an experienced Engineer within after treatment testing and development you will have the opportunity to work with a highly collaborative team managing projects in the UK with exposure to projects around the Globe.
Your impact will be seen in these and other ways:
- Working as a team member of the Treatment Testing Engineering group applying basic knowledge of engineering principles and practices to assigned tasks in one of the following areas:
- Combustion/performance/emissions, cool/lube/fuel systems, air handling, system integration, after treatment integration, cycle simulation, vehicle system simulation, combustion system simulation, flow simulation, filtration, or after treatment simulation.
- Using prescribed and innovative methods, and working with limited guidance.
- Participating as a team member and actively contributing towards team goals.
- Working in engine test cells and vehicles learning and developing the EuroVI after treatment system and integrating it with the engine system.
- Performance development of the EuroVI After treatment system
- Writing test plans and assisting in cell running and troubleshooting
Qualifications
Skills and Experience Required
- Knowledge of fundamentals of thermal and fluid sciences, and/or physical chemistry
- A thorough understanding in the areas of thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, combustion, and/or physical chemistry. (This knowledge includes both analytical and experimental applications.)
- Ability to apply this knowledge to areas such as engines, after treatment systems, fuel systems, air handling systems, power generation and filtration systems.
- Energy conversion systems knowledge including an understanding of the working principles of power generation, including engines and systems; such as after treatment systems, air handling systems, fuel systems, and filtration systems.
- Knowledgeable in a specialty of interest in the areas of thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, combustion, and/or physical chemistry
Required Education, Licenses or Certifications
- Relevant Engineering or Scientific Degree preferred
