Job Title: Graduate NPI Engineer
Location: York
Salary: Competitive
Our client is one of Europe's leading manufacturers of engineered plastic assemblies, they are now looking for a Graduate who wants a career in New Product Introduction Engineering or Project Management. The role will be prominently based in the beautiful and historic city of York, however there might be a requirement to travel to one of the company's other sites in the UK or Europe.
The Role
Responsibilities:
- Leading Failure Mode and Effects Analysis teams.
- Developing robust new processes & ensure those processes are production ready through liaison with operations & other areas
- APQP for transferring existing business and new products/processes
- Ensure new processes are safe and that ergonomics are considered
- Customer improvement projects - working with customers to improve manufacturing process to improve delivered quality
- Working with tooling team so best practices are used in both tooling & assembly process to ensure design for manufacture
- Responsible for updating Project plans
- Planning trial activities
- Coordinating the various team members and ensure information is provided on time
- They will also be responsible for ensuring parts are available for any upcoming pre-production builds
- All BOM and AX information is provided and accurate prior to handing over the process to production
The Candidate
Our client are looking for candidates who are self-motivated, demonstrate excellent communication skills and are comfortable speaking to all different levels of personnel. Additionally the candidate must have a proactive and investigative approach to tasks; through high levels of analytical capability. They should be capable of working to their own initiatives to satisfy demanding deadlines.
Technical Skills:
- Literacy and Numeracy
- Able to self-manage
- Ability to prioritise work loads
- Graduate in engineering (BSC or B Eng)
- 6-Sigma Green Belt
- Highly IT literate
- Analytical and extensive communication skills
- Problem solving mind set with a 'can do' attitude
