We are seeking to attract a Senior Quantity Surveyor for a multinational Main Contractor to work on a major highways project in the Hertfordshire area.
This project will provide you with ongoing work, local to home for the next 3 - 4 years.
Joining the team early in the Design Phase, you will be responsible for engaging with the supply chain and building up the target costs under the NEC contract as well as inputting into value engineering and optioneering budget development. You will also be responsible for managing the design sub-contractor including change and risk management.
In the construction phase, you will procure early sub-contractor orders and take a lead in managing these accounts. In addition, you will oversee all payment applications, change and risk management, forecasting, reporting and final account preparation.
You will be playing a key part in commercial liaison with the Client, the Client representative and a variety of internal senior stakeholders. Your experience will ensure that our Client's commercial position is well protected from a contractual, insurance and legal perspective.
This role will allow you to grow and develop as a standalone Senior Quantity Surveyor leading to future opportunities and career advancement.
To be successful in this role, it is anticipated that you:
-Hold a degree HNC/HND (or 10 years of Commercial Experience) in Quantity Surveying or Commercial Management
-Be passionate about mentoring and developing others
-Have the gravitas to lead a team
-Have excellent stakeholder engagement
-Have previous experience with NEC forms of contract
-Have heavy civils project experience, ideally new build highways
-Hold the appropriate CSCS card
