Fashion Retail Buyer

The client; is a travel retailer and this role would be working mainly from their head office near Heathrow but also visiting another office in Southampton a few days a week
The role; to deliver the fashion categories (including; named sporting brands, named fashion/outdoor brands etc)
Your duties would include

- Managing a team of 4 staff based
- Buying management & accountability for fashion category
- Develop and deliver the product strategy whilst maximising category performance through detailed analytical work.
- Pro-actively manage the appropriate product range by store; delivering the category strategy to achieve sales, stock and margin budgets. Particular focus on range management
- Implement and maintain pricing & promotional strategies
- Develop and manage supplier relationships; maximising supplier performance, profitability and communications
- Analyse category performance, and develop & implement solutions to maximise sales opportunities,
- Manage supplier income database
- Travel to suppliers plus some store visits

The ideal candidate will ideally have experience of;

- A similar retail background with experience gained in a retail head office
- Experience of brand management within a retail environment - product sourcing, development and merchandising principles
- Strong supplier/ relationship building experience
- Flair for fashion, understanding of current/new fashion trends - willing to explore new brands to add to the portfolio as well as exiting less successful brands
- SAP system experience would be beneficial
